MSDN UK Flash

I happened to noticed the latest issue (09 July 2008) of this in my inbox yesterday. While I don't always get round to reading through it I did have a quick skim through.

I happened across quite a useful ebook "Foundation of Programming". I found it interesting having read through most of it. I plan on trying out some of the methods it describes. Hopefully I will managed then to improve my coding for work.

A copy of the ebook can be found here: Foundation of Programming. At a later day I will post about what I find as I try out these methods.

EDIT:

I didnt find it at the time, but here is the link to the MSDN Flash website. that way you can get to the archive to view older issues.

D&D Character Sheet

I have been into D&D for a while, I play it with a few friends. It does make for a nice change to play a pen and paper game. But there is also plenty of things that can be helped along with a bit of software. So one of those things I ended up thinking about was the character sheet. So I tried out a few things and settled for a PHP web page. The result of which you can find here:

Online D&D Character Sheet

Finally uploaded.

I have always favoured web development locally since its a lot quicker. For the most part it has been quite easy to do that and then upload to the server. This is going to be the first time I am doing it with a CMS like Drupal.

I thought the new version was doing nothing only being on my pc, so I got round to uploading it. Hopefully I will find a good way to keep the main one and my local copy in sync, thought how to do that at the moment still eludes me.

Another change (not so different)

Well I seem to not have much look into getting going with a website. Ive done a lot of testing and coding, but I dont think there has every really been much traffic to my sites. I hope to change with this new one. I am going to start keeping track of a program soon that I am writting. I might also write my thoughts at times on generally anything I feel like, though more than then not that will most likely come in some form of computers or technology.
